Museums

The museum complex of GASU (the MC of GASU) was established to support educational, research, and cultural projects. Currently, the MC of GASU includes:

• Archaeological museum;

• Zoological museum;

• Museum of history of GASU;

• Museum of local lore “Nature of Altai Mountains”.

The main goal shared by the university’s museums is to evoke and maintain interest in the nature and history of the native land, as well as to foster the desire not only to learn but also to enrich the cultural values of the peoples of Altai.

The MC of GASU serves as a center for additional education for students and schoolchildren of various comprehensive schools in the Altai Republic. It also acts as a base for in-depth study of the history of Altai and its adjacent territories. In addition, the museums strive to involve youth in active local history and research activities.
